Never let it be said that we are a one-trick pony, with no interest in quadrupeds of a different hue. When Allan offered to show more of his 35mm slides (remember them?) the long list of possible topics included ships as well as trains. So a couple of weeks ago he gave an illustrated talk on shipping of his acquaintance, many going back to his early years in the Glasgow area. Not surprisingly ferries featured prominently, including those to the Isle of Man, across the Clyde and even the odd cross-Channel train ferry. As always, it was an informative and entertaining trip down memory lane, amongst subjects in most cases long gone.
