We're at 57a Portland St, half a mile south of Southport town centre (defined as the Monument on Lord St.) right next to the Southport - Liverpool railway line, which can be a mixed blessing sometimes.

For those approaching on foot, here are some directions:

From
Southport station, go through the concourse past Marks and Spencers to Chapel St. Turn left and take the second left into Eastbank St. After about 250m go over the railway bridge and take the steps immediately on the right down to Railway St. Follow the railway to the clubrooms at the crossing.

To avoid the steps continue beyond the bridge, turn right at the roundabout, right again into Portland St, and walk down to the crossing.

From
Birkdale station, leave the station on the village side (trains to Liverpool platform) and cross the road. On the other side is an antiques shop. Go down the path past the shop (Railway St.) and past several crossings to Portland St. The clubrooms are on the opposite side of the crossing.

Every 7.5 minutes Merseyrail sends a prototype electric train past the clubhouse, to remind us of what the real thing looks like and inspire us to greater modelling efforts. We are very grateful to them for this.
